Kangaroo Island

Viticulture on Kangaroo Island began as long ago as 1837, but it was little over a decade ago (2001) when Australia’s newest wine region was officially declared. Kangaroo Island now features 30 growers and around 200 hectares of vines. The Island boasts 18 home-grown labels, five of which are exported to the UK, USA, Europe and Asia markets. Travel to Kangaroo Island requires a 1.5 hour drive from Adelaide to Cape Jervis through the scenic Fleurieu Peninsula, then a 45 minute crossing via the Sealink ferry.
